RELATIONSHIP ETHICS: INFATUATED OR IN LOVE?
The first time you saw him or her you swear you felt your heart skip a beat. There you thought you’ve met the one, the one that took your breath away. Many people describe this moment as love. Adding on to the many assumptions that love at first sight exist. But when we see someone, what is the first thing we notice? Obviously we notice what we can only see at the moment -their physical features. And when we like what we see, sometimes a little too much we tend to feel overwhelmed. That feeling is called infatuation, where we are driven by a person’s good looks and confuse it for a far more complex feeling -Love. Think about it, how you can instantly fall in love with someone when you first see them. You don’t know who they are, how they think or their personality. The only thing leading us on is how they look, and that alone cause people to rush into relationships. A few months later after the infatuation clears, there you meet the real person underneath the good looks.
